 The
Old Byre is a Heritage Centre in the beautiful Glen Bellart close
to the picturesque village of Dervaig on the Isle of Mull. The Old
Byre is a must for anyone who would like to absorb the history of
Mull in an effortless 'armchair' manner! With two amazing videos -
one describing Mull's history from when man first settled here,
and the other one about Mull's abundant and varied wildlife - both
on land and in the waters around Mull, you can learn so much about
this beautiful island. Our Gift Shop and Tearoom are
relaxing places to purchase souvenirs and crafts or enjoy some
ligh t
refreshment or a delicious light lunch.
We have
a very comprehensive play area which has been divided into
physical play area, watching parents section where families can
be served from the Tearoom & quiet play area with tables,
chairs, sit down games & colouring. If you have come to Mull to visit Tobermory to see the sights of
'Balamory', then you should also venture the extra 8 miles to
Dervaig. You will find the Old Byre a fun and rewarding
experience for the whole family
